Water flavouring hacks from Consultants

by | Oct 2, 2024

It’s that time of year when we (hopefully!) get some brilliant days of sunshine. Want a fun drink – like a mocktail? In need of a tasty dessert? Or are you looking to add a little something extra to your weight-loss Plan?

Water flavourings can do just the trick!

Firstly, what are The 1:1 Diet Water Flavourings?

Staying hydrated is essential while on Plan, but water can sometimes feel a bit dull. For those who want a little variety, The 1:1 Diet offers a range of water flavourings to make it more enjoyable.

There’s several flavours to choose from, so something to suit everyone:

  • Orange
  • Pineapple
  • Raspberry & Elderflower
  • Pink Lemonade
  • Golden Vegetable – if you want something a little more savoury

All you do is add a teaspoon of the flavour of your choice to a litre of water and voila – a tasty drink. But that’s not all. We’ve got in touch with Consultants to share some of their creations and find out how you can take a simple tub of water flavouring (and maybe a scoop of mix-a-mousse or two) and turn it into something fabulous!

Turkish Delight Recipe

Sweets on a diet? Well look no further. We’ve found a hack so you can make healthy Turkish Delight using the Raspberry and Elderflower flavour.

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of The 1:1 Diet Mix-a-Mousse
  • ½ teaspoon of Raspberry and Elderflower water flavouring (dependent on how strong you like the flavour – add more for a more intense flavour)
  • 2-3 drops of rose water
  • 150ml of water

Method:

Mix ingredients together with a blender and pour into moulds of your choice. Chill in the fridge until the liquid has set into a jelly-like consistency. Take from the mould and slice into cubes. Enjoy!

Icey Pole Recipe

Add 1½ teaspoons of your chosen Water Flavouring (or you could mix 2 together for an extra fruity flavour) to 1 litre of water, stir until the mix is dissolved, then pour it into ice moulds and freeze for a minimum of 6 hours. From Steps 3 and above, you could also add some fresh fruit to the mix. Once they have frozen, pop them out and enjoy!

Ice Cream Recipe

Ice cream is a bit of a treat, and certainly not something you’d associate with being on a diet. But some crafty Consultants have shown how you can turn The 1:1 Diet Vanilla meal replacement shake into ice cream, with a little help from the water flavourings too.

Ingredients:

  • A handful of ice cubes
  • 100ml of water
  • 1 x The 1:1 Diet Vanilla Shake sachet
  • ¼ teaspoon of Raspberry & Elderflower water flavouring (dependent on how strong you like the flavour – add more for a more intense flavour)

Method:

Combine all of the ingredients into a blender and blitz together until you have a creamy consistency. Once ready, transfer into a bowl or glass of your choice and enjoy!

Total calories: 200, suitable for any Step. Serves 1.

Porridge Mix Up

Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of Raspberry and Elderflower water flavouring to either a Mixed Berry or an Original Porridge to enhance the already delicious flavour!

The 1:1 Diet Orange Juice

Ingredients:

  • 400mls water
  • A handful of ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon Orange Water Flavouring
  • 1 teaspoon Mix-a-Mousse

Method:

Add the water flavouring and mix-a-mousse to your blender along with the water and ice. Blend immediately until it froths and is well combined. Leave to settle and remove the foam. Stand for a minute of two so the ingredients have time to thicken slightly.

Pour into your glass of choice and serve with extra ice.

The 1:1 Diet Golden Vegetable Options

Broth:

Add a level teaspoon to a cup of boiling water to enjoy a savoury snack without the calories.

Seasoning:

Sprinkle on your protein or vegetables prior to cooking for an added burst of flavour!

Stock:

Perfect for stir-fries, soups and gravy!
