“I’ve never been an overweight person and kept relatively healthy all my life but approx. 5 years ago, as I hit that peri-menopause age, I started to gain weight and all the diets/exercise etc I could usually fall back on, were no longer working. Then Covid hit and I was working from home, and, like a lot of people, I was eating more and moving less. It was a photo taken at my son’s 18th birthday, where I was at my all-time heaviest, that was the turning point for me. I hated the way I looked, how I felt, and I knew I needed to do something different. I was quickly approaching my 50th birthday and I wanted to look and feel my best before then. Added to this, my 15-year-old son was also heading into adulthood extremely overweight, and my husband was also the same.
