I had struggled with my weight since I was 15 and when I turned 67 years old I knew I had to do something.
I struggled with my fitness and my blood pressure was through the roof and a heart attack or stroke was on the horizon. I had tried every weight loss program, fad and even medication over the last 52 years. I was either not losing the weight, falling off the wagon after a week, or not able to maintain the loss.
Being overweight made me feel conscious of looking big and flattering clothes were always hard to find, I felt I needed to buy expensive clothes to make myself look presentable. It played havoc with my confidence and self-esteem both in my social and professional life.
It impacted my health and my mobility became more difficult. I started to move slower and my lung capacity must have diminished because I was huffing and puffing just doing the shopping. I started to worry about my longevity and became emotional, fearful and angry about not being able to control the situation. I tried too many diets to mention but never maintained for long.
A friend was on the 1:1 Diet, so I decided to try it. Having to see my Consultant Natalie weekly, having my questions answered and feeling supported made all the difference. I lost 27 kilos in 7 months. I went from a size 18 to a size 12 and now love clothes shopping. I truly feel I have been given the tool to maintain my weight for the rest of my days. Since losing the weight my blood pressure medication has been reduced twice with a view to coming off the medication in the next few months.
My quality of life has improved so much. I’m a slimmer, fitter, healthier and happier person altogether. I would recommend the 1:1 Diet to anyone of young or mature age.
