What is cloud bread?
Cloud bread is made from very few ingredients, in fact, our low-calorie cloud bread only has two; egg and quark or cottage cheese… and did we mention it’s a great keto-friendly bread alternative! It has taken off on TikTok, which is where its recent rise in popularity has come from.
What does cloud bread taste like?
Cloud bread tastes light, fluffy and a little bit doughy.
How does it stack up against shop-bought bread?
Cloud bread has less calories than the average slice of shop-bought bread, and has few to no carbs, meaning you’re less likely to feel bloated and heavy after eating it.
How to make cloud bread:
- Pre-heat the oven to 160°C fan, 180°C or gas mark 4.
- Separate the egg yolk and the egg white into two bowls.
- Add the 30g of quark/cottage cheese to the yolk and beat until smooth.
- Whisk the egg whites until firm. They should form stiff peaks that will hold even when you tip the bowl upside down!
- Fold the whites into the yolk and quark/cottage cheese mixture and add seasoning if required.
- Separate into two mounds onto greaseproof paper on an oven tray and cook for 15 minutes until golden brown.
