As I have become older, I have really struggled with trying to maintain a healthy weight. I have always been an active person and enjoyed swimming, walking, running and going to the gym, but nothing seemed to help me get those extra kilos off. I would continuously go on one diet or another and would shift 2-3 kg in the first couple of weeks, but then it wouldn’t budge. It didn’t seem to matter what I did, I could not loose anymore. So eventually like most people – I gave up and the kilos that I had originally lost would jump back on.
In 2009 I became seriously ill and ended up in hospital five times that year. My haemoglobin got down to 62 (which is half of the minimum that it should be) and the doctors thought I would suffer a heart attack at any moment. Finally the weight started falling off and I actually reached my goal weight for the first time since I had married 13 years previously. Unfortunately, I could not enjoy my new found figure as I was in too much pain. Eventually the doctors worked out what was going on with me and put me on the right track to recovery. I could finally eat whatever I felt like without suffering all the consequences of when I was sick – so I did. Within 6 months I had gained 13kg.
One day while I was doing my grocery shopping I caught the eye of someone who looked really familiar, but I just couldn’t place her. She approached me and started chatting and it was then that I realised it was a friend and my support person from the foster care agency that I was a carer for. I had only spoken to her on the telephone for the last six months or so, so I hadn’t seen her in person for a while. She looked absolutely amazing! She had just lost 50 kilos in a little over 6 months and gone from a dress size 24 to a 14! I was desperate to find out what diet she had used, and even though I only had around 10kg to lose at this stage, I thought I have finally found something that obviously works! I researched the diet and found out that The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan has been extremely successful in the UK, but has only been available in Australia for a couple of years. That very day I contacted the closest consultant to me and made an appointment that has since changed my life. Within 8 weeks I had lost 10kg and felt absolutely amazing. Several years have now past since I lost the weight, & even though I still struggle at times (especially with the onslaught of menopause), I always have The 1:1 Diet to fall back on.
If you also find it difficult to lose weight, then please make that first step that changed my life and pick up the telephone or send me an email. I have helped many people overcome some serious weight related medical issues including insulin dependent type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnoea, osteoarthritis, high cholesterol, fatty liver, protein leakage from kidneys, and numerous other illnesses. I would love to help you too and if you are still unsure of what we have to offer, you are more than welcome to just come over for a chat to discuss your options.

What people are saying…
“Tamara listened, obviously cared, and made a lot of sense. I bought a load of what appeared to be treats; bars, soups, shakes, and dry camp like food. I sat in the car after agreeing I would make a start straight away and opened my first chocolate bar. My first thought was ‘oh my god I’m going to die’. I was going to starve If this had to last the afternoon. Especially when it smelt like a Snickers bar. Instead, I was surprised at how full I felt. I also lasted the afternoon without even thinking about food. Tamara couldn’t have been more supportive, and tears really were shed after the first week when I realised that I had lost 3kg – I couldn’t believe it had been that easy!”
